Lady Evelyn Salley Schumake Snodgrass
Lady Evelyn Schumake Snodgrass the firstborn of six children, born to Master Sergeant George and Nora Salley Schumake, was born in Okinawa, Japan, June 9, 1957. She departed this life October 27, 2012.
Lady Evelyn was a graduate of Butler High School, attended Alabama A&M University, and a graduate of Athens State University where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Lady Evelyn as a teen was a member of the Loveman's Department Store Teen Board and a 1975 AKA debutante.
She was married to Reverend Wayne P. Snodgrass, for 34 years, and they had a son, Israel Wayne.
In 2006, Lady Evelyn became a Certified Image Consultant with BeautiControl, a skincare, spa and cosmetics company. Through her affiliation with BeautiControl, Lady Evelyn attained the level of Unit VIP, and was appointed to the National Training Team.
She had the unique ability to draw people to her. Her beautiful smile, and warm hugs, was her signature.
Lady Evelyn was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer in April 2010, which she courageously battled for two years, with treatment by Clearview Cancer Institute (Huntsville, AL), M.D. Anderson Medical Center (Houston, TX), and Cancer Treatment Center of America, at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, (Zion, IL).
Lady Evelyn will be ever fondly remembered by her husband Rev (Dr.) Wayne P. Snodgrass; son, Israel Wayne, and grandchildren, Ashriel, Christylle, and Isaiah. Brothers, William Schumake, Gregory Schumake, Lindsay Schumake, Huntsville.AL, Aaron Schumake, Detroit, MI; Sisters Nusaba, Portland, OR, Lara Ann Milan, Washington, D.C. ,Tanisha Riviera, Detroit, MI.
Funeral service will be Noon, Today, November 2, 2012 at the Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne P. Snodgrass officiating. Entombment will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens. Lady Snodgrass will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
